The woods used
in my turnings are from local trees (some from my own backyard) as well as
from exotic and unusual trees from around the world. What some may perceive
as imperfections in the wood, are really Mother Nature's "beauty marks" to a woodturner, and make for very interesting and unique pieces. For this
reason, each piece is one of a kind, as the grain, color, texture, and other
characteristics of the wood could never be duplicated in any two turnings.
Many of my turnings include the natural markings of the wood such as burl,
spalting, natural bark, and even worm or insect borings. |
